Where have all the good logos gone?






















The ISO50 blog (via The Canadian Design Resource) praises the 1976 Montreal Olympics symbol and rightfully bemoans the dearth of good design, referencing such recent atrocities as these. Never mind the Vancouver 2010 emblem.

My late father-in-law was in PR, and back in 76 when we were all 10 (and long before he was my f-i-l) he brought the whole class posters of this logo, but in a cool stretched distorted form. Wish I still had it!

That Montreal 1976 one looks like a bunch of severed fingers. Just because it was created in the 70s by some design wank superstar doesn't mean that it's timeless.
